Luke is a lonely high school junior. His brother is a jerk, his dad’s been distant since his mom died, and his only friend - his 87 year old neighbor Albert, has just passed. While attending Albert’s memorial, Luke inherits one of his old antiques and discovers a genie inside. Xander the genie, who has the form of a teenage boy, is tied to Luke until he makes his one wish. While Luke tries to think of something to wish for, having Xander around makes Luke’s life exponentially better. He gets a date with his crush at school, stands up to his brother, and finally has a friend his age - kind of. This leads Luke to be forced to consider if making his one wish is worth losing his new genie best friend.

Vision for the Show:
At it’s core Xander is a friendship story about Luke and Xander building an unbreakable bond as the story progresses. Xander helps Luke with girls, stand up to his brother, and make peace with his mother's passing. Luke repays the favor to Xander when he realizes he can’t force him to be his friend and wishes him out of his genie entrapment.
