Lucy Chandler has just been discharged from a mental institution and she’s trying to solve her Detective father’s last case, which incidentally also killed him. She’s battling schizophrenia which makes her an unreliable narrator at times, is technically evicted from her house and his ex-partner is trying to stop her investigation. Lucy Chandler will get to the bottom of the case.

The Strange Case of Lucy Chandler draws inspiration from shows like Veronica Mars and Twin Peaks while mixing in elements of 40s noir, Dashiell Hammett-esque hard-boiled crime fiction, and the horror films of John Carpenter.

Vision for the Show:
Lucy's struggle with mental illness and her "Found Family" dynamic with some of the supporting characters continues to evolve throughout subsequent seasons. Their interpersonal storylines are serialized, but each season revolves around a new case/mystery. While the overarching style of the show remains consistent, each season incorporates elements from different subgenres - cosmic horror, action/thriller, conspiracy, etc.
