"BalletU" stands as a captivating short documentary that provides an intimate glimpse into the lives of two exceptionally talented ballerinas, Kaitlyn Shavelle, a senior at Columbia, and Sasha Perkins, a sophomore at Barnard.

Vision for the show:
The documentary follows the journey of ballerinas as they prepare for and perform in two separate shows, one week apart, highlighting the challenges of being a student and a black ballerina in a predominantly white space. It explores how they balance their passion for ballet with the practical realities of life, recognizing that this may be their last opportunity to perform. The film also delves into the difficulties of managing intense rehearsal schedules alongside academic demands.
